Oz and I worked on this translation in a team. One part of the translation was done by me, Verena, the other was done by Oscar. We decided not to mesh both and find one common style because we felt as though they flowed well with each other just as they were.

Verena: "I loved working on this text. I don't usually translate short stories or texts in this style ever, yet it was a fun challenge and really made me think outside the box a lot. It had been a time since I've finished my studies in Translation, so I welcomed the chance to utilise my German skills to all my might, and while I don't think my part is perfect by any means, I learnt a lot; it's all an opportunity to grow. The end product is something I'm proud of.  And I have to say, my team partner truly made the experience extra comfortable!"

Oscar: “I wanted to take part in the LocJam as a challenge for my translation skills as my main experience lies with LQA. It proved a fun project, trying to match not only the tone and style of the old-timey original, but to find a common ground in form of a Style Guide and Glossary with my project partner. I learned quite a bit from this process and my team mate and was glad I could contribute through my LQA experience to polish the translation and visual presentation of the end result, which is certainly something I am proud of!”
